Support from an experienced team
People who work in the field of addiction have chosen this particular career – it is a vocation in helping people in their recovery journey, therefore support and empathy is in abundance.
Your own Recovery Manager
Personalised treatment comes with a personal recovery manager. This relationship is crucial in your recovery journey – you will build a strong bond, which you will take with you for the rest of your life.
Specialist Therapy, Senior Therapists
Addiction therapy is specialist, and many Senior Therapists are in recovery themselves – this means, they know exactly how you feel, which can be a great comfort.
Qualified Recovery Support Team
Staff in recovery support teams are often in recovery – they may have been to rehab themselves, and following their experience, decided to train in the field of addiction. This creates a great atmosphere of empathy and care.
Travelling to rehab taken care of
Partner clinics often offer transport for those coming into clinic for a variety of reasons. In our experience, those seeking treatment may not be able to drive through loss of license, for example.
12 step meetings
Typically, rehabs operate the Minnesota Model of addiction treatment, which is based on the AA’s 12 Step Model. While in treatment you will be encouraged to form a very important habit of attending AA meetings and fitting them into your life once you’re home.
Your rehab may arrange 12 step meetings outside of the clinic while you’re in treatment.
A typical day in rehab
Rehab has a structured format – a daily timetable, complete with meetings and activities that you will be expected to join. The first few days to a week is spent resting and recuperating while detoxing.
Once rested, you may wish to join a medication session, then join your peers for breakfast, meet the medical team for any meds, then other activities will start.
Mornings are typically for group therapy sessions, then in the afternoons there’s time for a gym visit, or swim and sauna, then perhaps you might relax with complementary therapies such as reflexology or align your Chakras with a Reiki session.
You’d have dinner with your community peers, then the evenings are for resting and chatting with peers, catching up with your soaps, business emails, or perhaps attending an AA or NA meeting.

Making friends in rehab is easy – everyone is sober and looking forward to a brighter future, so the atmosphere is supportive and positive. Once you’re feeling fit and ready to join the group, you’ll be assigned a ‘Buddy’ – someone who has been in treatment a few weeks, who can show you the ropes and settle you in.
